RIP KK: In a shocking situation, playback singer Krishnakumar Kunath, better known by his stage name KK, passed away in Kolkata late on Tuesday night. He was 53 years old. He was in the city to perform at a function at the Nazrul Manch organized by Gurudas College. It is said that KK’s health deteriorated while performing. After returning to his hotel, the singer complained of uneasiness following which he was taken to the hospital. Doctors at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) declared him brought dead.
Born on August 23, 1968, KK recorded songs in several languages including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Ahead of his performance, the singer made a heartfelt social media post for his fans. He shared some of his pictures from the concert along with a note. He shared, “Tonight Nazrul rocking the stage gig. Vivekananda College!! Love you all.”

In the pictures, KK can be seen performing live on stage as the audience applauded for him. In one picture he can be seen holding the mic, and in another, he can be seen greeting his fans with his arms wide open.
Keke’s untimely death left a deep void in the hearts of his fans around the world. He bombarded her last Instagram post with heartfelt tributes. Expressing her grief, singer Sugandha Mishra wrote, “Omg omg omg.” One fan wrote, “You left too soon!!!!!!” Another commented, “I’m still in disbelief.” A fan also shared, “Can’t believe it. Rest in the music giant! I’m numb and heartbroken.”
Several Bollywood celebrities also took to social media platforms to express their condolences. actor Akshay Kumar “Extremely saddened and shocked to learn about the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti (sic).”
Singer Harshdeep Kaur wrote, “Can’t believe our dear #KK is no more. It really can’t be true. The voice of love is gone. It’s heartbreaking.”
KK is gone too soon but he will always be remembered for ‘Pyaar Ke Pal’, ‘Yaaron’, ‘O Meri Jaan’ among many others. He is survived by wife Jyoti and two children.
