Reliance set to launch Jio AirFiber

Reliance is all set to launch Jio AirFiber for wireless internet for residential and commercial use. The plan was announced at the 45th AGM meeting of Reliance in 2022.

During the company’s AGM meet, Mukesh Ambani said that with Jio AirFiber, users will be able to enjoy fibre-like speeds, parental controls, Wi-Fi compatibility, various low-latency and high-bandwidth applications, Wi-Fi 6. support and other perks, according to media reports.

The report states that Jio AirFiber can be integrated with Jio set-top boxes with in-app controls. In addition, the new launch will have the ability to block endangered websites or devices on the network.

For speed, Reliance Jio AirFiber is expected to offer 5G speeds of up to 1.5Gbp. Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance also claimed that the service will use true 5G to provide Wi-Fi coverage. It is also being said that AirFiber will act as a router, where the device has to be plugged in and turned on.

As of the launch date, there is no official announcement of Jio AirFiber coming to the market.
