Release of Salami starring Dulquer Salmaan postponed

A new release date is yet to be announced by the makers.

Directed by Roshan Andrews, the film was earlier scheduled to release across India on January 14.

The release of Dulquer Salmaan starrer Salute has been postponed due to the sharp rise in the cases of coronavirus across the country. A new release date is yet to be announced by the makers. The actor informed fans about this by sharing a post on Instagram. “We at Wayfarer films are obliged to show social responsibility ahead of our personal interests. Like all of you, we were most excited and looking forward to our next release,” read an excerpt from the statement released by the film’s team.

Theaters and cineplexes have been closed in many states in the wake of the third wave of the ongoing pandemic. Salute, directed by Roshan Andrews, was earlier scheduled for a pan-India release on January 14.

“We apologize if we have let you down. But in times like these, we must prioritize health and safety,” the statement said. It added, “We will be back at the earliest. We thank each of you for your support.”

Salute is written by screenwriter duo Bobby-Sanjay of Traffic, Ayalum Najnum Thamil, Mumbai Police, How Old Are You and Uyare fame. Dulquer, who plays a police officer, is working with Roshan Andrews and Bobby-Sanjay for the second time. Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Elansir Lopez, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Sania Ayyappan among others are also part of the much-awaited project.

Dulquer was last seen in Kurup. He has films including Hey Sinamika, Chup: Revenge of the Artist, Yuddham Tho Rasina Prema Katha Films among others.
