After his astonishing ton that helped RCB seal a win over SRH on Thursday, the former India captain spent time with the groundsmen at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday registered a crucial win against Sunrisers Hyderabad to boost their play-off chances in IPL 2023.

Virat Kohli scored a brilliant ton, his sixth in IPL history, to take the game away from home team Hyderabad and hand the Karnataka-based team the required two points.

After the game, the former Indian captain took out time to pose with the groundsmen at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

RCB won the toss and decided to field first. It seemed like the Bengaluru team’s plan was working as they managed to finish off a couple of overs before the end of the powerplay as Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi were dismissed for 11 and 15 respectively.

Captain Aiden Markram and compatriot Heinrich Klaasen put on a 76-run partnership, but Markram was dismissed for 18 off 20 by Shahbaz Ahmed.

Klaasen’s brilliant innings saw him complete his maiden IPL century before being sent back to the pavilion by Indian pacer Harshal Patel.

New Zealand player Gaylen Phillips was dismissed for 5 off 4 balls, while Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 27 off 19 balls.

SRH scored a total of 186 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.

Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis started for the Bengaluru-based unit as the pair continued their fine form at the top of the batting order.

Orange Cap holder du Plessis played another brilliant knock as he smashed 71 off just 47 balls, while Kohli brought up his 100 off 62 balls.

Kohli reached the triple-digit mark with a stylish six over long-on and raised his bat in celebration of yet another milestone in his already impressive record.

After the win, RCB now have 14 points and have moved above Mumbai Indians to fourth place in the table thanks to a better run rate. SRH are at the bottom of the table this season with just 8 points out of 13.
