Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar has asked the health department to depute officials to conduct mandatory testing of all visitors at inter and intra district checkpoints from November 1 to 30. “During this period, all visitors coming to the district will have to mandatorily undergo RAT test. ,” said an officer.
The DC has directed the Health Department to depute officers at the check points every day from 6 am to 10 pm in two shifts for a period of 15 days.
Some of these points are the Kharkhai River Bridge, which connects Seraikela with Bistupur; Toll bridge connecting Kadma with Gamharia; double bridge connecting Sonari with Dobo; Pardih Chowk connects Mango to Chandil; Check points at Baharagora, Katin and Potka. In addition, Mango Long Distance Bus Terminus and Tatanagar Railway Station have been identified for this purpose.
This decision has been taken as there is a possibility that people in the district will reach here to celebrate Diwali and Chhath with family and friends.
Officers at the checkpoints will see that each person wears a face mask and maintains social distancing during the Covid-19 test.
Action will be taken against those who do not follow the protocol under the DM Act. Significantly, in the last 13 days, 40 Kovid cases including one death have been reported on Wednesday.
