Ranji Trophy 2022: Andhra Pradesh Gain Upper Hand vs Uttarakhand; Services under control against Rajasthan

Andhra took a first innings lead of 32 runs before taking two opposition wickets to take the initiative against table-toppers Uttarakhand on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group E match here on Friday.

After bowling out Uttarakhand for 194, Andhra scored 226 runs in 85 overs to take a 32 run lead thanks to a half-century from young Shaik Rashid (56) and 45 from CR Dnyaneshwar.

Rashid and opener Dnyaneshwar added 30 more runs before falling to Mayank Mishra (2 for 28).

Rashid and skipper Ricky Bhui (33) shared a 57-run stand for the third wicket before the Uttarakhand bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals to hold the lead.

Uttarakhand ended the day at 36 for 2, losing opener Kamal Singh (6) and captain Jay Bista (23), with only two days of play to spare, with a modest four-run lead.

In the second match of the group, Services took the lead against Rajasthan with a 209-run lead.

After bowling out Rajasthan for 92, the service took a big lead backed by half-centuries from Rajat Paliwal (91) and SU Yadav (60).

Rajasthan ended the day on 23 for no loss, with 186 runs still outstanding.
