South superstar Ram Charan is proud after his father and Megastar Chiranjeevi got conferred with Padma Vibhushan.

Global star Ram Charan took to social media to share a heartfelt message congratulating his father, Mega Star Chiranjeevi, on being conferred with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award.

Mega star Chiranjeevi, an icon in the Indian film industry, was honored with this distinction for his exceptional contributions to cinema and the arts. Having graced the silver screen in over 160 films across multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada, he stands as one of the most successful and revered actors. This marks his second Padma Award, having previously received the Padma Bhushan in 2006, solidifying his status as a distinguished figure in the world of entertainment.

The Padma Vibhushan, one of the highest civilian honors in India, recognizes individuals for their exceptional service in various fields, including the arts, literature, sports, public service, and more.

Chiranjeevi made his acting debut with the 1978 movie Punadhirallu. However, he got his major breakthrough with Sindhooram in 1997. In his career of more than four decades, Chiranjeevi has worked in over 150 feature films in several languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. Some of his popular films are – Rudra Veena, Indra, Tagore, Swayam Krushi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Stalin and Gang Leader.

Besides Chiranjeevi, Vyjayanthimala will also be honoured with Padma Vibhushan. She is one of Indian cinema’s finest actors and has worked in several films from the 1950s and 1960s, including Devdas, Naya Daur, Aasha, Sadhna, Gunga Jumna, Sangam, and Jewel Thief.
