Rajpal Yadav is preparing for the release of his new film ‘Ardh’ these days. film, which also marks Bollywood Television actress Rubina Dilaik’s debut will be available on ZEE5 from June 10. In the film, Rajpal Yadav is seen playing the role of Shiv, who despite being a great theater actor is struggling to become an actor in the city of dreams, Mumbai. So, to survive in the city and earn his bread and butter, he pretends to be a transgender named Parvati. When the trailer of the film was released, Rajpal Yadav became the talk of the town and impressed everyone. While fans are already touting Ardh as Rajpal’s best performance till date, we asked the actor if he agreed in an exclusive chat with News18.com.

“Yes, I completely agree because it is a different performance, a different role. It is a family film, entertaining as well as expressive and emotional. Every actor has a dream,” Rajpal Yadav said. That she gets different roles, so I can say that this role is very different from the roles I have played till now.”

The actor also talked about playing a man who dresses up as a transgender and revealed how challenging it was for him. “It was an amazing experience. I can’t describe it in words. I was wearing Parvati’s clothes but thinking like Shiva. Similarly my director was guiding me. He was telling me that I should be Parvati. What is the need to be or where do I need to think like Shiva,” he shared.

When asked if he is also related to his character as Shiva is also a struggling actor in the film, Yadav said that a character is a director’s point of view and hence it is not easy to relate to it as actors. “It is not possible to belong to one character. Because you are living that character, you cannot add your personal aspects to it. This is the journey of Shiva (his character in the semi). Yes, you are also an actor and he is also an actor so you have experienced something similar in between. But you can say that a character is a director’s interpretation. As an actor, you have to work with the concept and the director’s interpretation. I don’t remember what I did yesterday. I try to work on what I can do better today,” he told News18.com.

Rajpal was also asked whether he felt Bollywood justified his potential. To this the actor said that whatever he is today is because of Bollywood and that is why he is very happy today. He said, ‘Yes, Bollywood has justified my ability. Whatever I am today is because of Bollywood. Whatever I have achieved today is because of Bollywood. Millions of people want to enter this industry. Be it batting or bowling, I think I am one of the luckiest people as I get a chance to be among the top 11 players at least. I am a fan because of Bollywood. I am very happy. Bollywood nahi hota toh Rajpal Yadav ka naam nahi hota (I wouldn’t be here without Bollywood). I am very happy,” he said.
