Rajnath Singh to visit Malaysia to cement defence ties, enhance strategic partnership

Defense Ministry said in a statement that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will pay an official visit to Malaysia on July 10 and 11 with a focus on further strengthening bilateral defense cooperation and enhancing the strategic partnership. During his visit, Singh will hold bilateral talks with Malaysian Defense Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd Hassan.

The ministers will review defense cooperation between the two countries and explore new initiatives to further strengthen the ties. The two sides will also exchange views on regional and global issues of common interest. During the visit, Singh will also call on Malaysian Prime Minister YB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim.

India and Malaysia have a common interest in the peace and prosperity of the entire region. The two democracies share a strong and multifaceted relationship that extends into several strategic areas including defense and security. Both countries are committed to work under the vision of Advanced Strategic Partnership established during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Malaysia in 2015.
