Accused in police custody in Balotra on Saturday

Jaisalmer: Balotara police in Barmer district busted an inter-state gang of 20 members who were planning to leak REET question papers and make dummy candidates appear in the exam. Two government school teachers are also among those arrested.
Six government school teachers and a police constable, who are part of the gang, managed to escape.
This gang used to seat dummy candidates in the competitive examinations conducted in the state and also leaked question papers at hefty cost. 9.50 lakh in cash was recovered from the two arrested government teachers.
Barmer SP Anand Sharma said that on September 24, Balotra SHO Babulal Raigar had received information that two members of an inter-state gang are planning to provide REET papers for Rs 12 lakhs before the examination and allow dummy candidates to appear in the examination. 15 lakhs to join charges Rs. .
He said a team was formed under the SHO and raided a house on the mega highway and arrested two criminals, Ramesh Kumar (36), a resident of Balotra, and a government teacher and Suresh Kumar (35), a resident of Jalore.
The SP said that documents and applications of candidates of many districts and other forged documents have also been recovered from the culprits. Police claimed that Ramesh Kumar admitted to giving the question paper five hours before the exam and revealed that e-Mitra owner Mohan Lal, a resident of Dedwa in Sanchore, used to help in photo editing of applications.
