Rajasthan: Ramganj tense after stone-pelting, cops deployed | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Clashes broke out between two groups following a row between a shopkeeper and a hawker in the Ramganj area on Friday.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said that some persons also sustained injuries in the stone-pelting and they were taken for medical examination.
As per Deshmukh, the incident took place when a shopkeeper objected to a hawker putting a pushcart right in front of the former’s shop.
The incident sparked a noisy quarrel between the two which soon turned violent. Soon more people joined in, and the two groups fought with each other and pelted stones, while others also targeted a few vehicles parked in the area. Police said that the two groups belonged to the same community.
The Ramganj police also rounded up a few suspects in the case. Additional police forces were also deployed in the area to control the situation from escalating.
The Jaipur police said that the law and order situation was under control and no fresh incident of violence was reported.
