Rajasthan Political Crisis: Resignations of 81 MLAs Stand Withdrawn, HC Told

The Rajasthan High Court was informed in response to a writ petition that the resignations of the MLAs submitted to the Speaker on September 25 were not voluntary and have been withdrawn.

The Assembly Secretary told the High Court on Monday that the 81 MLAs who submitted resignation letters to Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi during the crisis last September have taken them back.

The Rajasthan High Court was informed in response to a writ petition that the resignations of the MLAs submitted to the Speaker on September 25 were not voluntary and have been withdrawn.

On September 25 last year, 81 MLAs had submitted their resignations to the Assembly Speaker for scuttling the Congress Legislature Party meeting convened to determine Gehlot’s successor as chief minister, as Gehlot was then running for the post of Congress President. Were at the forefront.
