New Delhi: Senior leaders Natwar Singh said on Thursday that there is no Congress, Including Rahul Gandhiwho can challenge the prime minister Narendra Modi.
Asked if Rahul Gandhi can challenge the Prime Minister, Singh told ANI, “Do you think so? Will he be able to stand in front of PM Modi? Argue in between. PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi. You saw Gandhi’s interview with a TV channel. PM Modi is a speaker. He is fearless and fearless. He (Rahul Gandhi) cannot do anything against him (PM Modi). There is no one in Congress who can challenge and match Modi because he is a great orator.”
Singh, who was the External Affairs Minister during the UPA government, also questioned the Congress leadership and blamed the Gandhi family for the erosion of the party’s base across the country.
Speaking on the Congress’s electoral prospects in five states, he said, “I don’t think so (if the party can defeat BJP). If they had taken a stand… But… their decision is bad. They don’t. Huh.” I don’t have any mentor but think he is ‘Tees Maar Khan’.”
Former senior Congress leaders blamed Rahul Gandhi for the erosion of the party’s base in the leader.
He said that Rahul Gandhi does not have any post in the party, but still he keeps on winning.
“Three people are responsible for the current crisis in the Congress party. One of them is Rahul Gandhi, who doesn’t even hold any post, and is calling the shots,” Singh told ANI.
Singh’s criticism of Congress and Rahul Gandhi’s work came amid crisis in Congress in three states – Punjab, Kerala and Chattisgarh.
