Qualcomm: Oppo’s upcoming flagship smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset – Times of India

New Delhi: Qualcomm Finally unveiled its next generation flagship chipset – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. As promised, the company has changed the naming scheme for the Snapdragon chipset with the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. At the launch, the chipset major had also said that this new and most powerful processor will be powered by various high-end smartphones that are expected to launch from this month.
Soon after the launch of this new chipset, the smartphone maker company Opposition has confirmed that its flagship smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor Oppo has said that it will launch its first smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the first quarter of 2022. Oppo also said that it will continue to collaborate with Qualcomm Technologies in accelerating the development of 5G and exploring the future of smartphone innovations.
In an official statement, Oppo said, “Oppo maintains a close association with Qualcomm Technologies, and we have brought to market a number of 5G smartphones powered by the flagship Snapdragon mobile platform this year, including the Find X3 series and the Reno 6 series. It is our pleasure to witness the launch of a new generation of the Snapdragon 8 mobile platform. We are confident that it will bring immense improvements and powerful performance over the next generation of flagship smartphones.”
Qualcomm’s new chipset is developed using 4nm process samsung Based on armv9 architecture. It comes with one Cortex-X2 prime core clocked at 3GHz, three Cortex-A710 performance cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Qualcomm claims that this new processor delivers up to 20 percent performance boost compared to Snapdragon 888 and up to 30 percent power efficiency.
