Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise has been a phenomenal success. Originally in Telugu, the film directed by Sukumar and starring Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles has done staggering business in other languages including Hindi. Apart from script and acting, songs have also been appreciated. Renowned composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is the face behind Pushpa’s popular songs and the Hindi version of the songs is presented by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
The Hindi songs of the film are not only being loved by the masses but they are also taking the internet by storm as they are part of the top 5 charts on YouTube. While Srivalli is trending at number one followed by U Bolega or Ooo Oo Bolega at number two, Sami Sami is also trending at number 4.
The composer has previously composed music for Salman Khan’s Radhe and Ready. When asked about doing a direct Hindi film, he said, “I am looking forward to doing it. Language has never been a barrier for me. I have already composed a song for Rohit Shetty’s Circus. I am in talks with a few more films, but once this lockdown situation is over, we will be able to get more clarity. I am also excited as I am coming up with some Hindi singles this year. It was supposed to happen last year but due to the second wave things got delayed a bit. But I made good use of the time and tried to come up with a better job.”
Talking about working with Rohit Shetty for Circus, he said, “I was thrilled when I got a call from Rohit Shetty sir. I am really excited about this collaboration. We have already done the song, and this is the kind of track that I always wanted to make in Hindi. It has a nice melody, but it also has a sweetly lovely groove. Rohit sir is one of the best directors I have met. I can’t reveal much right now but I hope the audience will fall in love with this song and get the same appreciation throughout my career.”
Recalling the first time he met Ranveer, the DSP said, “I remember Kamal Haasan sir introduced me to Ranveer at an event. He saw me and started dancing and he talked to me about my songs and told me That he performed one of my songs at some event. He is a star. I love his energy. His acting in all his films is amazing. I am really happy to be associated with him and Rohit sir.”
