Patiala: Punjabof Power The crisis seemed to finally subside on Monday and Tuesday as the state’s demand for monsoon.
Sources said the state’s power demand had reached around 10,500 MW on Tuesday and 8,000 MW on Monday due to monsoon. Both the government-run thermal plants were running at half load capacity.
“Three units of Ropar thermal plant and all four units of Lehar Mohabbat thermal plant were run at half load capacity on Tuesday, while both units of GVK and one operational unit TSPL A PSPCL official said that even after low demand, they were run at half load.
The average power supply to the agriculture sector also stood at 15.5 hours till Monday, while the average in the last two weeks ranged between 6-8 hours a day earlier.
