Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday once again asked the state police chief to step down his security. According to an official statement, Channi asked the police department to keep at least security personnel with him.
During a security review meeting, Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota, who has been given the additional charge of DGP of Punjab, told the Chief Minister that the strength of the security personnel is being reviewed under his instructions as well as the threat perception. A few days ago, Channi had said that his security should be reduced.
