“It has to do with the families of the martyrs. The state should meet and do whatever it can for them. Listen to them patiently,” former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot tells News18, even as CM Gehlot has said that meeting the demand would set a “bad precedent”

The scenes of protests by the families of the Pulwama martyrs are making the central Congress leadership restless. The widows of three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel from Rajasthan who were martyred in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack have been protesting since February 28. They have been camping outside the residence of former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot in Jaipur since Monday.

No, it is not that the party is just worried that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may use it to accuse the Congress of being anti-army and anti-national. It’s Wondering If This Is Another Example Of Shadow Boxing Pilot and CM Ashok Gehlot,

This is because, in a detailed statement, Gehlot explained why meeting the demands of the families of the martyrs would set a bad precedent and take away the priority that should be reserved for the families of the martyrs.

Worry

It is a matter of concern that a sit-in is being held outside Pilot’s Jaipur residence as well and the former Deputy CM has met the family. Not only this, the pilot has also appealed to the state government to help.

Talking to News18, Sachin Pilot said, ‘It has to do with the families of the martyrs. The state government should meet and do whatever it can for them. Listen to them patiently.

The digging here is also that till now neither the CM nor the CMO has met the family.

It has to do with the families of the martyrs. The state government should meet and do whatever it can for them. Listen to them patiently. It has nothing to do with the party. It is about our armed forces and we should respect and honor those people who fight for our country.

But when Sachin Pilot speaks for the martyr’s family, is he also speaking against the Gehlot government? Especially, when Gehlot in his statement accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of politicizing the incident and spreading misinformation.

The name of the pilot was not mentioned, but was it indicated?

language matters

Gehlot, in his last meeting with Sonia Gandhi, told her through a letter that Pilot often spoke a language that played into the hands of the BJP.

Pilot has denied this, telling News18: “It has nothing to do with the party. It is about our armed forces and we must respect and honor those who fight for our country.”

As the BJP intensifies its campaign against the Gehlot government on this, and with Pilot as a commissioned officer of the Territorial Army appointed by the central government, the knives are out in an election year.

The concern is not only about BJP versus Congress, the bigger concern is about Congress versus Congress. And an issue that Pilot can use to target the Gehlot government.
