Pretending to be normal in Kashmir like walking on the path of suicide: Kashmiri Pandit group

After the recent killings, a representative body of migrant Kashmiri Pandits – Panun Kashmir – said on Saturday that pretending to be normalcy and downplaying the gravity of the situation in the Valley would be “like walking on the path of suicide”.

It reiterated its demand for permanent resettlement of all displaced Hindus and creation of a homeland to the north and east of the Jhelum river to isolate Jammu for peace in the region.

Eleven people, including two teachers, a prominent Kashmiri Pandit pharmacy owner and five non-local laborers were killed in a series of separate attacks by terrorists in the Valley this month.

“The Indian government should understand the situation in Jammu and Kashmir without appeasement and wishful thinking.

What is happening in Jammu and Kashmir is not a law and order problem.
This is not just a problem of terrorism.

He claimed that whatever is happening is a clear manifestation of ‘jihad’ (holy war).

“Pretending to be normal and downplaying the gravity of the situation has already cost the country dearly and to continue to do so would amount to suicide,” he said.

Referring to the thousands of Kashmiri migrant Pandits who got jobs under the employment package in the Valley, Chungu said, “They are like caged pigeons and are in danger all the time.

“The policy of the government in relation to them is to hold them hostage to the Muslim fascist communal system.
They are victims of the denial of genocide policy other than the direct targets of the jihadi war,” he said, rejecting a link between the employment package and the return and resettlement of migrant Pandits in the Valley.

To defeat the “jihadi war” in Jammu and Kashmir and further reverse the Hindu genocide, Chungu said that “reorganization of the JK is a vital necessity”.

“The takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban has created an imperative need and urgency to divide Kashmir.
The creation of Panun Kashmir to the north and east of the Jhelum river for permanent resettlement of all Hindus expelled from Kashmir and the separation of Jammu are important requirements for peace in the region.

He also demanded the declaration of Pakistan as a “terrorist state”.

“Jihad has become like an agricultural enterprise in J&K and terrorist crops are being grown from inside also.
Destroying terrorist farming should be the top priority of the Indian government and not just killing terrorists, which is like chopping leaves and keeping the poisonous plant intact,” he said.
