Porn film case: Court rejects pre-arrest bail plea of actress Gehana Vashisht

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of actress Gehana Vashisht, an accused in a pornographic film case.

Vashisht is accused of threatening, coercing and luring women to act in pornographic films. Justice SK Shinde on Tuesday refused to grant anticipatory bail to the actor. Vashisht had filed the petition last month anticipating arrest in the case.

He has been booked under sections 354-C (outraging modesty of woman), 292 and 293 (sale of obscene material), sections 66E, 67, 67A (transmission of sexually explicit material) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). has gone. Provisions of the Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

The city police had registered three FIRs against several people in the porn film racket case. Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, is an accused in an FIR. He was arrested on July 19 this year and is currently in judicial custody.

The police case against Vashisht is that he forced women to act in pornographic films on the pretext of getting small acting jobs. These films were then reportedly uploaded on the Kundra-owned mobile app Hotshots.

The police later also filed an application before the trial court adding another charge against Vashisht under Section 370 (detaining any person against his will) of the IPC.

Vashisht’s lawyer Abhishek Yende had earlier argued that the actor’s arrest was not required as the police had already recovered evidence from him.
