New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kedarnath Temple on Friday.
After offering prayers at the temple on Friday morning, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the renovated Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya and unveil the saint’s statue in the temple premises. He will also review and inspect the ongoing construction works.
The Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya has been reconstructed after it was destroyed in the 2013 Uttarakhand floods.
Speaking to ANI, Kedarnath temple priest Bagish Ling said, “We will all welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi will reach here in the morning. He will perform Maha Rudra Abhishek and pray for the welfare of the nation. He will pray for Adi Shankaracharya. Will also unveil the statue. The temple has been decorated with flowers.”
Thereafter, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate major infrastructure projects worth Rs 130 crore, including Saraswati Retaining Wall Asthapath and Ghat, Mandakini Retaining Wall Asthapath, Tirtha Purohit House and Garuda Chatti Bridge over Mandakini River. He will also lay the foundation stone for several projects.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting during his visit to the temple.
