PM Modi to lay foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs 24,300 cr in Rajasthan’s Bikaner today

PM Modi in Rajasthan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan’s Bikaner on Saturday (July 8) to lay the foundation stone of various development works and address a public rally. He will reach Bikaner around 4:15 pm, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs 24,300 crore in Bikaner, aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and welfare of the region.

The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the six-lane Greenfield Expressway section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor. This section, spread over 500 km in Rajasthan, runs from Jakhadawali village in Hanumangarh district to Khetlawas village in Jalore district, built at a cost of about Rs 11,125 crore. This expressway will significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity between major cities and industrial corridors. The expressway will not only facilitate seamless transportation of goods but will also enhance tourism and economic development along its route.

Phase-I of Inter-State Transmission Line for Green Energy Corridor

Giving a boost to the power sector in the region, he will dedicate to the nation Phase-I of the Inter-State Transmission Line for Green Energy Corridor worth about Rs 10,950 crore. The green energy corridor will integrate about 6 GW of renewable energy and help in grid balancing of renewable energy with thermal generation in the western region and hydro generation in the northern region, thereby strengthening transmission capacity between the northern region and the western region.

PM Modi will also inaugurate Bikaner to Bhiwadi transmission line. The Bikaner to Bhiwadi transmission line, to be developed by Power Grid at a cost of about Rs 1,340 crore, will help in harnessing 8.1 GW of solar power in Rajasthan.

The Prime Minister will dedicate the new 30-bed Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Bikaner. The capacity of the hospital will be upgraded to 100 beds. The hospital will serve as a vital health facility, catering to the medical needs of the local community and ensuring accessible and quality health services.

Redevelopment of Bikaner Railway Station

Apart from this, he will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Bikaner Railway Station. Approx Rs. Will be developed at a cost of Rs. The redevelopment work, at a cost of Rs 450 crore, will involve renovation of all platforms along with floors and ceilings, while ensuring the preservation of the heritage status of the existing structure of the railway station.

The foundation stone for doubling of the 43 km long Churu-Ratangarh section will also be laid by the Prime Minister. Doubling of this rail line will enhance connectivity, facilitate transportation of gypsum, limestone, food grains and fertilizer products from Bikaner region to rest of the country.
