PM Modi to launch Parliament TV on September 15, Venkaiah Naidu and Om Birla will participate in the program

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will launch Parliament TV during the official program to be held in Parliament House on Friday, 15 September. This new television channel will be made by combining Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be present at the launch event.

The new channel is said to be aimed at showcasing high quality content related to institutions in India and democratic values ​​targeted at national and international audiences. When the Parliament session begins, Parliament TV will have two channels to broadcast the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.

According to reports, Karan Singh will host a show on various religions, Bibek Debroy on history and Amitabh Kant on ‘Transformation of India’. Batra, Vice President of SAARCLAW, will be hosting a show on legal matters. Retired IAS officer and former Textiles Ministry secretary Ravi Kapoor is the CEO of the channel while Manoj Arora, Joint Secretary in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, is the OSD.

Notably, the merger was informed in June last year and was officially announced by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat Office in March. In November last year, Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had constituted a panel to merge the two channels. Both the channels have been merged on the recommendation of a single panel.
