Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kedarnath in Uttarakhand on November 5 and will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several major infrastructure projects. Prime Minister Modi will also review and inspect the infrastructure works executed and ongoing in the state.
In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said, “The Prime Minister will perform puja at the Kedarnath temple. He will then inaugurate the Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, which was damaged in the 2013 floods, and unveil the statue of Shri Adi Shankaracharya.
The mausoleum has been rebuilt after its destruction in the 2013 floods. The entire reconstruction work has been carried out under the guidance of the Prime Minister, who has continuously reviewed and monitored the progress of the project.
He said, “The Prime Minister will review and inspect the ongoing and executed works at Saraswati Asthapath. He will also address a public meeting.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate major infrastructure projects such as:
- Saraswati Wall Asthapath and Ghat
- Mandakini retaining wall aasthapath
- Tirth purohit houses
- Garuda Chat Bridge over Mandakini River
All these projects have been completed at a cost of over Rs 130 crore.
He will also lay the foundation stone for several projects worth over Rs 180 crore including redevelopment of Sangam Ghat, first aid and tourist facility centre, administration office and hospital, two guest houses, police station, command and control centre, Mandakini Asthapath queue. Management and rain shelter and Saraswati Nagrik Suvidha Bhavan.
Uttarakhand witnessed heavy rains, floods and landslides last week, affecting areas of Devprayag, Ramnagar, Ramgarh, Gaulapar and Rudrapur.
To take stock of the situation, Prime Minister Modi had spoken to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami several times from day one and assured all possible help from the central government.
On Thursday, PM Modi celebrated Diwali with soldiers in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Appreciating the armed forces, he said that India is proud of the role of this brigade in the surgical strikes.
