PM Modi to hold bilateral talks with President Joe Biden, other Quad leaders during US visit: MEA | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with the Quad leaders including the US President Joe Biden Foreign leaders, apart from attending the first in-person meeting of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, during their visit to the US later this month, said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday.
Prime Minister Modi is on a visit to America next week.
“PM (Modi) will attend the first in person Quad leaders’ summit in Washington on September 24. On September 25, he will address the general debate. United Nations General Assembly In its 76th season. While the PM is in Washington, he will also have a bilateral meeting with President Biden,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said during a press briefing.
“We look forward to bilateral meetings with other Quad leaders as well as bilateral meetings with some other leaders while he is in New York on September 25,” he said.

During the discussions, the leaders will discuss regional issues of common interest and will also review the progress made since their first virtual summit held on 12 March 2021.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the General Debate of the High-Level Section of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on 25 September 2021.
The theme of this year’s general debate is ‘Building resilience through hope of recovering from COVID-19, rebuilding sustainably, responding to the needs of the planet, respecting people’s rights and revitalizing the United Nations’.
