PM Modi Recites Couplets to Take Dig At Congress in Lok Sabha

PM Modi said that the years between 2004 and 2014 saw a decline in the Indian economy and what the country called the “lost decade” under the UPA.

Turning to the decade before 2014, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launching a scathing attack on the Congress on Wednesday, he said that the years between 2004 and 2014 were full of scams. Responding to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi sharpens his attack on the Congress and takes a jibe at the grand old party, using couplets from poets like Dushyant Kumar, Kaka Hathrasi, and Jigar Moradabadi . ,

Reciting a couplet from Jigar Moradabadi’s poem, he said, “I was watching yesterday. After the speeches of some people, some people were happily saying, Yeh hui na baat. Perhaps they slept well and could not get up on time. It is said of them, “Ye keh keh rahe hai hum dil ko behla rahe hai, woh ab chal chuke hain, woh ab aa rahe hai”.

He also read a few lines of Kaka Hathrasi’s poems to bring tears to the Congress.

PM Modi responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Harvard remark and used Dushyant Kumar’s poetry to give a befitting reply. He said, “Tumhare pao ke neeche koi zameen nahi, kamaal ye hai, ki phir bhi tumhe yakeen nahi.”

He said that the country today is full of confidence and is realizing its dreams and resolutions, adding that the whole world is looking towards it. India With eyes of hope and credited India’s stability and potential. He observed that India under the UPA was called the “lost decade”, whereas today people are calling the current decade “India’s decade”.

In his 90-minute speech, PM Modi also underlined that constructive criticism is important for a strong democracy and said that criticism is like a “Shuddhi Yagya” (purification ritual).

He also said that instead of constructive criticism, “some people criticize out of compulsion”.

“In the last nine years, we have had compulsive critics who indulge in baseless allegations rather than constructive criticism. Such criticism will not go down with those who are now experiencing basic amenities for the first time,” PM Modi said, adding that instead of a dynasty, he is a member of a family of 140 crore Indians.

PM Modi said, “The blessings of 140 crore Indians are my protective shield.”

“Modi! Modi!” by the Treasury Bench and “Adani! Adani!” Congress members walked out briefly during the Prime Minister’s address by opposition members.

About 40 minutes after PM Modi’s speech, Rahul Gandhi came to the House, after which his party members returned to the House.
