Turkey-Syria earthquake: Death toll above 11,200; 3,000 Indians in Turkey, 1 untraceable, says MEA
The death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria has passed 11,200 as rescuers race to rescue people trapped under the rubble in the freezing winter. Monday’s 7.8-magnitude earthquake killed 8,574 people in Turkey and 2,662 in Syria, bringing the total to more than 11,000. Read more
RBI hikes repo rate by 25 bps, launches UPI for tourists from G-20 countries
Reserve Bank of India The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) announced its latest bi-monthly monetary and credit policy at the conclusion of a 3-day meeting on Wednesday, February 8. The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday announced an increase in the repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.5%. The decision was announced by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. The decision of the MPC was taken by a majority of 4 out of 6. Read more
