PM Modi Launches NIRYAT Portal to Access Export Records, Inaugurates Vanijya Bhawan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Thursday 23 June, launched the NIRYAT portal, which will dedicatedly deal with India’s import and export analysis. Modi said after launching the portal that the National Import-Export Record for Annual Analysis of Exports, or trade, has been launched by the government to provide important real-time data to all stakeholders. NIRYAT has been pegged as a one-stop platform for stakeholders by the Center for easy access to important information related to India’s foreign trade.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated Vanajya Bhawan in New Delhi that day. Launching the NIRYAT portal, Modi said, “The government has been working towards ensuring ‘citizen-centred governance’ for the last eight years and today we have taken another important step in this direction. Modern commercial building and NIRYAT portal are being gifted. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was also present during the program.

“This new Vanijya Bhavan and NIRYAT portal represent our aspirations of a ‘Self-reliant India’. This will bring positive change in the field of trade and commerce especially for MSMEs,” PM Modi said after launching the NIRYAT portal. Users can log in to the portal with their username and password and have easy access to all import export data of the country.

“The portal will provide important information related to over 30 commodity groups exported to over 200 countries of the world. District wise export-related information will also be available on this in the coming time. This will also strengthen the efforts to develop the districts as important centers of export.

The NIRYAT portal aims to “further strengthen India’s financial sector in line with the 3Ts of trade, tourism and technology” as per the government.

“Despite the global disruptions last year, India Exported a total of $ 670 billion – Rs 50 lakh crore. Exports are important for the progress of a country. Initiatives like ‘Vocal for Local’ have also boosted the country’s exports.” Modi said the government was working to promote ease of doing business and boost exports, Modi said, adding that new domestic industries like handlooms Products are reaching new markets.

The PM also inaugurated the new Vanjay Bhawan that day. Constructed near India Gate, Vanajya Bhawan has been designed as a smart building that incorporates the principles of sustainable architecture with a special focus on saving energy. It will work as an integrated and modern office complex which will be used by two departments under the ministry i.e. Department of Commerce and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
