LT College kitchen has the capacity to cook lunch for around 1 lakh students

In his first visit to his Varanasi constituency after the victory of the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Akshaya Patra mid-day meal kitchen was inaugurated here on Thursday.

Officials said during his visit, Modi will launch and lay foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 1,774 crore focused on improving infrastructure and making living easier.

He said that the kitchen of LT College has the capacity to cook lunch for about one lakh students. Responding to the launch, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav He said that kitchens should be started at all the 11 places proposed during the SP rule.

He said, “During the SP regime, Akshaya Patra scheme was started to provide nutritious and hot food to the students. In the last five years, the BJP government kept it closed. But, now the students and youth are compelled to start this scheme due to fear of anger.
