Congress appoints 37 observers for all parliamentary seats ahead of Gujarat elections

New Delhi: The opposition parties are planning a strategy to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat. The Congress has appointed block-wise observers in all 26 parliamentary constituencies, while the AAP has attacked the BJP for misleading the people by organizing programs like “Janata ke paisa se” Vikas Yatra.

According to an IANS report, the Congress has appointed observers in all the 26 parliamentary seats in the state. A total of 37 leaders, including MLAs from different states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, have been roped in for the party’s work. The party reportedly held meetings in Delhi to prepare for the elections and both state and national leaders are considering it.

Sources said the central Congress leadership has asked its Gujarat unit to refrain from making personal attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raise people’s issues and target BJP’s policies in the assembly elections due later this year. IANS

The Congress task force on Monday held a marathon five-hour meeting, asking the leaders of Gujarat to prepare unitedly for the assembly elections to oust the BJP, which has been ruling the state for the past 27 years. Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venugopal, Randeep Surjewala, Ajay Maken, P Chidambaram and Congress election strategist Sunil Kanungolu attended the task force meeting.

The party has also decided to highlight the failure of the state government, especially during the COVID pandemic. In recent days, apart from a setback in the local body elections, the Congress has seen some high-profile exits. Hardik Patel, who led the Patidar movement, has also changed his allegiance to join the BJP.

AAP targets BJP for misleading people in the name of ‘Vikas Yatra’

Addressing the media in Ahmedabad, AAP’s National Joint General Secretary Isudan Gadhvi has accused the BJP of misleading the people of Gujarat by organizing programs like Vikas Yatra “with public money”.

“The BJP government repeatedly plays with the sentiments of the people. It had promised to make Gujarat malnutrition free in 2012, now in 2022 Gujarat has more than three lakh malnourished children. Recently the Chief Minister of Gujarat said that BJP It works on what they do. Promised. But I would say whatever the BJP promises in Gujarat, it does just the opposite.”

Gadhvi further claimed that former chief minister Vijay Rupani and BJP state chief CR Patil have “admitted that corruption is rampant in several government departments”. Despite this, no allegations of corruption have been investigated so far.

Gadhvi said, “The AAP government in Punjab has made electricity free within three months of the formation of the government. The government should be such that it fulfills its promise at the earliest and serves the people.”
