Rajasthan crisis: Since the formation of the party’s government in the state in 2018, there has been a rift between Pilot and Gehlot over the post of Chief Minister.

The Congress is struggling to choose between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar for the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka, awaiting the party’s crisis management in Rajasthan. Some local reports said that the ongoing tussle between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot could take a major turn in June.

according to a report in IndiaIt is being speculated that Pilot can give a ‘big blow’ to the Congress on the death anniversary of his father Rajesh Pilot.

Why is Sachin Pilot protesting?

Pilot and Gehlot have been at loggerheads over the chief minister’s post ever since the party formed the government in the state in 2018.

While Pilot has been targeting Gehlot over “inaction” over alleged corruption when the BJP was in power, the chief minister has accused the MLAs involved in the 2020 rebellion of taking money from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs then demanded a change of leadership in Rajasthan. He was sacked as the party’s state unit president and deputy chief minister.

latest demand of pilot

Sachin Pilot has threatened to launch a massive agitation in Rajasthan if action is not taken on his demands by the end of this month.

Pilot has demanded dissolution of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and its reconstitution, compensation for those affected by the government job exam paper leak cases and a high-level inquiry into the allegations of corruption leveled against the previous BJP government.

Last week, the dissident Congress leader started a 125-km foot march from Ajmer to Jaipur.

The five-day yatra was meant to mount further pressure on the party leadership as it hopes to retain the state in the year-end elections.

Pilot, who was sacked as state Congress chief in 2020 when he led a rebellion against the CM, said, “I have taken out this journey to raise my voice, to make your voice heard and to be the voice of the people.” I am.” The beginning of the “hike”.

“If action is not taken on these three demands by the end of this month, agitation will be launched across the state,” the former deputy chief minister said at the rally. “I will serve people till my last breath, nothing scares me.”

Pilot reminded that the party had raised the issue of corruption during the last election in Rajasthan. “We exposed corruption during the (Vasundhara) Raje government. We demanded a CBI inquiry into the mining scam.

He told the public meeting, ‘Our comrades brought the Congress to power by shedding blood and sweat and assured the people that we will take action after coming to power.’

He questioned Gehlot’s purported claim that “no politician or official” was involved in the paper leak cases, asking why no bulldozer was sent to the house of Babulal Katara, the RPSC member arrested in the case.

Pilot reiterated that he has been writing to Gehlot for the last one and a half years for action on corruption, but no action has been taken.

Gehlot’s opinion on Sachin Pilot

At an event in Jaipur, Gehlot indirectly referred to the discontent in the party. The Chief Minister said, in a democracy those who take everyone along are successful and those who do factionalism can never be successful.

Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara was dismissive of Pilot’s visit. “It is his personal journey. This is not the organizational journey of the Congress.
