Photos of 50th Victory Day: 4 torches from Kashmir to Kanyakumari reached Delhi, Modi absorbed their flame in Amar Jawan Jyoti

Today it has been 50 years since that golden moment, when the Indian Army defeated the Pakistani army and got Bangladesh independence. On 16 December 1971, the Indian Army liberated the people of Bangladesh from the atrocities of the Pak army.

Like every year, this time also Vijay Diwas is being celebrated with pomp across the country. Prime Minister Modi paid homage to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for India’s victory at the National War Memorial in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the Indian soldiers martyred in the war by garlanding the Amar Jawan Jyoti at the National War Memorial.

Before the arrival of PM Modi, 4 torches, which were flagged off on 16 December 2020, were also brought to the war memorial. The Prime Minister welcomed these torches.

These 4 torches were taken across the country to the villages of the Param Vir Chakra and Maha Vir Chakra winners of the 1971 war. Their fire was collected and 1 torch was lit.

The fire of the new torch was absorbed into the Amar Jawan Jyoti. In this way, the fire that came out from the war memorial 1 year ago to travel across the country came back here again.

Many army officers were also present along with Prime Minister Modi who reached the war memorial. PM Modi saluted the soldiers who died in the war.

PM Modi said that on 50th Vijay Diwas, I remember the valor and sacrifice of the freedom fighters, heroines and the Indian Armed Forces.
