Petrol and diesel prices India remained unchanged across the country on Friday or December 10. Fuel prices in India have been stable for over a month now. In order to provide much-needed relief to the common people, the central government had earlier last month reduced the excise duty on auto fuels. Excise duty on petrol was cut by Rs 5, while excise duty on diesel was reduced by Rs 10. Subsequently, several states, mostly ruled by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and allies, also announced a reduction in VAT on auto fuels. Two back-to-back tax cuts brought down the price of petrol significantly across the country.
