Petrol, diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru on November 23 – Times of India

The price of petrol and diesel held steady on Wednesday, November 22 for over six months now. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an excise duty cut on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel on May 21. The Maharashtra government also reduced the Value-Added Tax on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre on July 15.
Today, petrol price in Delhi stands at Rs 96.72 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 89.62 per litre. Petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel price in Mumbai is Rs 94.27 per litre. Petrol and diesel in Kolkata are retailing at Rs 106.03 per litre and Rs 92.76 per litre, respectively.

Retail petrol and diesel prices change depending on state by state and various criteria like freight charges, Value Added Tax and local taxes. Public sector OMCs including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise fuel prices daily at 6 am in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates.
