Petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad on August 31 – Times of India

Petrol and diesel prices in India have remained unchanged again for more than three months now on August 31, Wednesday. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced an excise duty cut on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre respectively, on May 21, 2022.
State-wise, the Maharashtra government announced a Value-Added Tax (VAT) cut of Rs 5 per litre on petrol and Rs 3 per litre on diesel last month. Recently, the Meghalaya government has increased the petrol and diesel rates on August 24. Now, the petrol price in Byrnihat will be Rs 95.1 per litre and in Shillong, petrol would cost Rs 96.83 per litre. The diesel price in Byrnihat will be Rs 83.5 per litre, while in Shillong it will be Rs 84.72 per litre.
In Delhi, petrol price today is Rs 96.72 per litre, while the diesel price in Delhi is Rs 89.62 per litre. One litre of petrol in Mumbai costs Rs 106.35 per litre and one litre of diesel price stands at Rs 94.28 per litre. Petrol price in Kolkata today is Rs 106. 03 a litre, while the diesel costs Rs 92.76 per litre.
