Meanwhile, noted theater owner Manoj Desai reflected on the film’s potential business impact and called for a boycott of the film.

There are seven theaters here. This place is a heritage thing. I was forced to think things through. But then later, I heard on TV that CBFC has recommended some cuts and removed some objectionable material. It was a relief,” he said.

Manoj said, ‘I have an old relationship with Shahrukh Khan. He lives here in Bandra and comes to our theater for each of his releases. So let’s see what happens next.
