Speaking at the launch of the Draft Population Policy 2021-30 on the occasion of World Population Day, Yogi He said that the new policy, which covers various aspects of an individual from birth to old age, takes into account each community.

Yogi underlined the need to take steps to bring people closer to the schemes launched by the Centre, which aim to benefit different communities.

“Departments like women and child welfare and education will have to make concerted efforts to control the population. It was the inter-departmental coordination that helped the state government to control not only the deadly Japanese encephalitis but also the coronavirus pandemic,” he said.
During this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 11 laboratories. RT-PCR test. He said that the state government has made a huge jump in the coronavirus testing capacity from zero to four lakh per day within the last 16 months.
Now, the state has RT-PCR testing laboratories in 40 districts. The tests are being conducted in medical colleges in other districts.
