Corona infection is increasing among doctors and health workers in state hospitals. Due to which the pressure on the health system is increasing. To prevent infection, doctors have begun to consider closing outpatient departments in many hospitals. However, the outpatient department at Calcutta Medical College and Chittaranjan National Medical College is not being closed. However, doctors have decided to reduce the number of non-emergency surgeries.
A total of 160 doctors are affected by Corona in Calcutta Medical College. The number is increasing every day. About 150 nurses and health workers of the hospital were also arrested by Corona. In such a situation, the idea of closing the outpatient department of the hospital started coming up. Although the hospital has informed that the outpatient department is open. The same decision was taken by Chittaranjan National Medical College and Hospital. However, both the hospitals have decided to reduce the number of surgeries other than emergency surgeries.
People from large areas of the state depended on these two hospitals in Kolkata. This is where the poor people of South Bengal and North Bengal also meet famous doctors for free. As a result, if the outpatient department of these two hospitals were closed, many people would have been stopped.
