In both the Houses of Parliament, the work has come to a standstill for the last four days due to sloganeering from both sides. While the BJP is demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi for insulting India with his ‘attack on democracy’ remark, the opposition is demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Adani controversy. Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament for the first time on Thursday and said he would like to speak if allowed to do so inside the House. The important issue is that Rahul Gandhi has given a big issue to BJP by giving the statement that ‘democracy is in danger’ in Britain. Many opposition leaders feel that Rahul’s remarks have taken the wind out of his camp, as he has been raising the Adani Group issue for more than a month. Now the situation is that both the parties are now using the Parliament and the media to dominate themselves. Both the parties want to project themselves as ‘clean’ in front of the people. As a result, work in Parliament has come to a standstill and public money is being wasted.

Lalu on wheelchair in court

Wheelchair-bound RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav along with wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa Bharti appeared in a Delhi court on Wednesday in connection with the ‘job for land’ scam. The court granted bail to all the 15 accused including the above three. The next hearing will be on March 29. In Patna, RJD camp was celebrating as if Lalu Prasad had won the case. Since the CBI had not arrested Lalu or any other accused in the case, and since the charge sheet had been filed, the court granted bail. Earlier, the Supreme Court had given a clear decision that if an accused is not arrested during the investigation and the charge sheet has been filed, then in all cases except a few, the accused can be granted bail. Whatever the merits of this case, Lalu Prasad is sure to get sympathy as he is shown wearing a mask and sitting in a wheelchair. Lalu has undergone a kidney transplant in a hospital in Singapore, his immunity level is low. If he roams in the crowd then there is a danger of spreading the infection. It would have been better if he had not been called to appear in the court. Politics apart, Lalu Prasad should have been exempted from attendance considering his medical condition.

Maharashtra
On the one hand, government employees in Maharashtra are on an indefinite strike for the last three days demanding the restoration of the old pension scheme, while on the other hand, thousands of farmers, ASHA workers and tribals are on a 200 km long march from Dindori. , Nashik, Mumbai. They are demanding Rs 600 per quintal for onion growers, 12-hour continuous power supply and farm loan waiver. Farmers in Maharashtra are not getting remunerative prices for their crops. I had shown in my ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ show how a farmer got a check of just Rs 2.49 after selling 512 kg of onions in Lasalgaon market. On the other hand, onion is being sold to consumers at Rs 25 per kg. The Rs 300 per quintal subsidy offered by the state government to onion growers is insufficient. Farmers say that it costs around Rs 1,200 to grow and transport one quintal of onions. Similarly, potato, tomato and garlic growers are also facing problems. The government should pay attention to their complaints. Farmers were raising their problems for more than a month. Had the Shinde government talked to him, he would not have traveled to Mumbai. It seems that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is trying to break leaders from the Uddhav Thackeray camp. In such a situation, common people are facing problems.
