Operation Kaveri: First Flight Carrying 360 Indians Evacuated from Sudan Lands in Delhi

As part of its evacuation mission ‘Operation Kaveri’, India is evacuating people to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah from where they are returning home.

The first special flight carrying 360 Indian nationals evacuated from trouble-torn Sudan landed in Delhi on Wednesday evening. The government is trying to rescue more civilians from the violence-hit African country ahead of the end of a difficult truce between the regular army and a paramilitary force.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Twitter, ‘India welcomes his return. #OperationKaveri brings home 360 ​​Indian nationals as first flight reaches New Delhi.”

Under its evacuation mission ‘Operation Kaveri’, India is taking the evacuees to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, from where they are returning home.
