Officials say dryer at Bethune-Cookman residence hall displaced 135 – Henry’s Club

Daytona Beach, Fla. Bethune-Cookman University officials said a fire at a residence hall Friday night flooded each floor of the building and would temporarily displace about 135 students.

The fire started at 8:05 pm from an electric dryer installed on the third floor. Thompson HallAccording to a news release. The university said there were no casualties and the building had internal damage but was standing.

The displaced students will be shifted to other housing areas on campus, the release said. Officials will decide on Saturday when the students can return to the building.
