Odisha government will construct 55 multi-purpose cyclone shelters in 7 districts. Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Berhampur: The state government has decided to set up 55 more multi-purpose cyclone centers in seven vulnerable districts, including six in Ganjam, with an investment of over Rs 126.88 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Other districts where shelters will be built are four each in Puri and Cuttack, Jajpur (11), Kendrapara (19). Balasore (9) and Bhadrak (2).
after the chief minister Naveen Patnaik Approved the construction of these cyclone centers owned by the state Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMAWrote a letter to the concerned District Collectors to ensure speedy selection and demarcation of sites so that work can be started soon.
Officials said that the responsibility of execution of the work has been entrusted to the Rural Works Department, while the tender process is going on.
In Ganjam, OSDMA has identified Laxmipur and Gudisara in Sheragada block, Giria Narayanpur and Chandauli in Hinjili block and Anantaraipur and Dunkalpadu in Chikiti block for construction of cyclone shelters. Officials said an investment of about Rs 8.49 crore would be made for this purpose.
