nqas: Div Hospital granted Nqas certification. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj : Government run multi specialty Motilal Nehru (Colvin) Mandal Hospital Prayagraj Has been given National Quality Assurance Standard ,NQAS) Certification by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The hospital has been given the prestigious certification in recognition of the high standards of quality and performance created by it.
Among other benefits, this achievement enables the hospital to receive better funding to further improve the quality of facilities and services in the days to come. Established in 1867, the hospital was commonly known as Colvin Hospital, and is now named MLN Divisional Hospital With effect from January 16, 1974. Having a sanctioned bed strength of 156, the hospital has 199 functional beds. 43 additional beds have been sanctioned for Kumbh Mela-2019.
NQAS has been developed keeping in mind the specific requirements for public health facilities as well as global best practices. NQAS is currently available for district hospitals, community and primary health centres. The standards are primarily meant for providers to assess their quality for improvement through pre-determined standards and to bring their facilities for certification.
NQAS is broadly organized under eight specific areas of concern which include service provision, patient rights, inputs, support services, clinical care, infection control, quality management and outcomes.
Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the hospital Dr Indu Kannojia said, “The quality of services in the hospital has improved as per the set standards. The report of the NQAS team shows that the hospital meets the standards for corrective action.
