Facing backlash for casting doubt on the armed forces after his recent remarks on the Balakot airstrike that the Center did not provide any evidence despite claiming to have killed several terrorists, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday posted a series of tweets. The series clarified that he sees the highest respect for the armed forces but his questions are for the Modi government.

Responding to a tweet by a former army officer and Congress leader, Digvijaya Singh said, “I have given the highest respect to our armed forces. Two of my sisters were married to naval officers… I have no question to ask.” Not there.” Defense Officer. My question is to the Modi government.

The Congress leader posed the following questions to the Modi government:

  • Who is responsible for the inexcusable intelligence failure where 40 of our CRPF personnel were martyred?
  • From where could the terrorist get 300 kg RDX?
  • Why was CRPF’s request to airlift CRPF personnel rejected?
  • Why was DSP Davinder Singh, a resident of Pulwama, let off after he was caught with terrorists by the J&K Police?
  • Pulwama is one of the most terrorist affected places, why the area and vehicles were not checked and cleaned?

“These are my legitimate questions to the Modi government. Am I not entitled to know the facts as a responsible citizen? Who has been punished for this grave lapse? In any other country the home minister would have to resign.” Digvijay Singh tweeted.

Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi categorically rejected Digvijaya Singh’s comment on the 2019 airstrike.

Addressing a press conference, the scion of the Gandhi family, who is leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra, said the party has full faith in the army and does not need any proof for it.

He said, “Don’t agree with Digvijaya Singh’s statement, we have full faith in our army if it does something then there is no need to give proof. I personally disagree with him and this is also the official position of the party.”

The Congress on Monday distanced itself from Singh’s comments on Pulwama, including the surgical strike, terming his statement as “personal”.
