BENGALURU: The labor ministry has called Infosys‘s group HR head Krish Shankar for a discussion on Thursday after it received a complaint from IT union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) over a noncompete clause in the employment agreement.
TOI had reported that a recently introduced non-compete clause forbids employees from working on the same customer’s projects across five named competitors and their subsidiaries for six months after leaving the firm. It named TCS, IBM, Accenture, Wipro and Cognizant as competitors that employees cannot join if they are put on a project of the same customer as the one they were working for at Infosys.
Infosys’s objective seems to be to restrain employees from divulging confidential information related to customers. An email sent to Infosys on being called for a discussion by the chief labor commissioner did not elicit a response till the time of going to the press.
