Noida Metro to provide untapped parking space to food trucks to increase revenue

To boost non-fare box revenue, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Wednesday said it has decided to rent out unused or unused parking space to food trucks at its nine metro stations.

This initiative will help NMRC to increase its ridership through enhancement of aesthetics and public amenities in and around metro stations.

Non-fare box revenue refers to revenue generated from sources other than passenger tickets.

The metro operated by NMRC connects the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida at a distance of 29.7 km through 21 stations.

“NMRC has issued Expression of Interest (EoI) inviting applications from interested vendors. The mobile food or food truck service vendor shall pay to NMRC a certain license fee or rental fee for availing the specified space in the parking area Which will be decided by NMRC,” according to an official statement.

The minimum temporary space proposed for setting up each food truck is 25 square meters and the maximum available space will vary station-wise.

NMRC said a total of 15 stations have been offered for food, entertainment or utility truck facility under the EoI.

The electricity will be provided by NMRC to the vendor at the applicable commercial rate(s). However, all installation and related costs will be borne by the seller, it said.

Further arrangements for disposal of waste from NMRC premises will be made by the vendor.

NMRC said the selection of vendor would be on the basis of H-1 quotation i.e. the vendor who pays the highest license fee to it would be selected.

“The selection for each location will be done separately. To bid against the EOI, the applicant will have to deposit a non-refundable bid processing fee of Rs 10,000 along with the required documents including the required licenses from various authorities mentioned in the EOI .,” it said.

The vendors will be allowed to work at the stipulated time i.e. from 9 am to 10.30 pm every day, it said, adding the complete details of EOI can be accessed from the website – nmrcnoida.com under tender tab.
