The video, which is less than a minute long, begins and ends abruptly, showing about half a dozen uniformed security personnel wearing shorts and T-shirts showing two residents at the entry point on the ground floor of a building.
The video showed one of the residents fighting with a wooden stick left by the security personnel, causing his other colleagues to run back and hit the man, who was held by another security personnel by his neck.
Another resident who had come to the man’s rescue was hit by the man before all the security guards left.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said that a complaint has been received at Sector 39 police station.
“After being alerted about the incident, the local police officer visited the spot for investigation. Based on the complaint, an FIR is being registered in the matter and strict action will be taken against the culprits after proper investigation,” Singh said.
He said police had taken cognizance of a purported video that “apparently” showed a security worker hitting the man, but added that a detailed investigation would reveal what led to the fight.
