Apart from mandatory face masks, the Noida health department has also asked schools and colleges to follow social distancing in classrooms

after a nationwide spike in corona virus cases, the Gautam Buddh Nagar health department has issued a set of recommendations to deal with the spread of the disease. According to the latest guidelines, it is now mandatory to wear face masks in public events like schools, colleges and malls. With regard to the COVID-19 norms for schools and colleges, the Noida Health Department has said that students, teachers and other school staff should wear face masks while on the premises of educational institutions. Those not doing so will be denied admission to the institute.

Apart from mandatory face masks, the Noida Health Department has also asked schools and colleges to follow social distancing in classrooms. It has directed educational institutions to ensure that students have adequate access to hand soaps and sanitizers.

Educational institutions have been asked to install thermal scanning at the entrance of their buildings. Students who have flu-like symptoms should be sent home. They should avoid going to school so that the spread of symptoms is reduced.

In addition, schools and parents have been asked to ensure that all students have been vaccinated against the virus, including booster doses.

“The country, including parts of Uttar Pradesh, has seen a rise in Covid cases. Keeping this in mind and keeping in mind the prevention of infection, it is very important to follow these precautions and Covid protocols,” Chief Medical Officer Sunil Kumar Sharma said in a statement. According to the report, no such guidelines have been issued for schools in Ghaziabad.

Gautam Buddh Nagar recorded 114 Covid cases on Thursday, taking the number of active patients in Noida and Greater Noida to 396, the highest this year.

The coronavirus guidelines come amid a rise in cases in several parts of the country. With the country registering a jump of over 10,000 cases in the last 24 hours, India’s active caseload stands at 53,720. The guidelines issued by the health authorities of Noida have also recommended the use of masks and sanitizers. The instructions also advised work-from-home option for those employees who had symptoms of corona virus.
