No hike in tuition fees for Punjab schools: CM Mannu

Continuing with the pro-Punjab decisions, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday ordered schools in the state not to make any hike in school admission or tuition fees. This decision comes just before the start of the next school academic year. This will bring relief to lakhs of children and their parents in the state.

The CM also ordered that no school can force parents to buy books, stationery and uniforms from a particular shop. The move is intended to break the monopoly in the “education business”, which often sets the prices of products, and parents are forced to comply.

The CM said that all private schools will have to ensure that all shops provide books, stationery and uniforms of their schools, so that parents can choose from where they want to buy them.

Mann said in a video message that education is like the third eye, which broadens the vision of a person. “But I am sad that education is beyond the reach of the common man. People want to give basic education to their children, but the high cost is a deterrent,” he said.

This is one of a series of people-friendly decisions taken by the newly elected Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab. Since he took office on March 16, Mann has launched an anti-corruption helpline, announced regularization of 35,000 contractual workers’ jobs, announced the delivery of rations and also reduced several pensions given to MPs. Is done.
