Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the G20 joint finance, health ministers meeting in Rome.
The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday embarked on an official visit to Italy to attend the G20 Joint Finance and Health Ministers’ meeting in Rome.
She will discuss measures to strengthen prevention, preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting is ahead of the G20 Rome summit.

The G20 Heads of State and Government Summit will be held in Rome on 30 and 31 October 2021. The Ministers of Economy and Finance traditionally also participate in the event.
The summit is the culmination of the G20 process and the final phase of intensive work carried out throughout the year of leaders’ level, ministerial level meetings, working groups and engagement groups.
Executive meetings of the Heads of State and Government will be held at the Rome Convention Center ‘La Nuvola’ in the Euro district of the city.
The Rome Summit will be the 16th meeting of the G20 at the level of Heads of State and Government. The first was held in November 2008 in Washington and the last in November 2020 under the Saudi Presidency.
